OMEGA does not try to product the entire spectrum of petroleum or petroleum–derived products. OMEGA is the leading producer of lubricants engineered exclusively for industrial users interested in reducing or eliminating breakdowns. OMEGA lubricants keep equipment operating under difficult conditions.
OMEGA Manufacturing Division places it greatest emphasis on its research and development activities. On a worldwide basis, over 600 individual tests are performed on OMEGA lubricants daily. OMEGA has remained in the forefront in pioneering the use of the latest generation of additives and synergists to enhance and improve the performance of its lubricants for the industrial user.
OMEGA additives help engines, gears and machinery run longer, more smoothly and with less wear and energy consumption. Additive performance improvement is a continuous engineering process at the OMEGA manufacturing Division, chemists, chemical engineers, mechanical engineers and lubricant specialists prepare and evaluate thousands of new supplements, annually. Some are destined to become vital components of tomorrow’s OMEGA lubricants.
When OMEGA and associated laboratory researchers evaluate a promising new formulation, a minimum of 120 equipment tests are performed. Extensive field work is also one of the joint research co-operative programs undertaken within the multi-structured research organization directed by OMEGA. In 1982 for example, over 15,000,000 vehicle test miles were accumulated in closely-monitored vehicle tests.
OMEGA fuel additives have, for instance, proven to be capable of reducing engine deposits, preventing gasoline decomposition and preventing distillate fuels from “sludging” during storage.
Intensive research is the rule at the OMEGA Manufacturing Division and nothing is left to chance. OMEGA scientists work with access to knowledge of constantly changing developments. Automotive and industrial machinery data is always on tap from complex and highly sophisticated data storage system. A steady flow of information from technical and marketing sources is immediately available.
A remarkably wide range of industrial and automotive equipment designs including new engines, transmissions, pumps, hydraulics, gears, and bearings are studied.
The same careful scrutinizing is applied to farm tractors, marine equipment and industrial machinery designs.
Today’s lubricants are subjected to far more detailed and rigorous specifications, and because of highly technical nature of lubrication, OMEGA makes available a Technical Enquiry Service on a world wide basis.
The OMEGA Manufacturing Division is currently funding research at several technical organizations into various aspects of lubricant processing packaging and additives. |
